Chasing the Perfect Note
How a late-night obsession with warm, living acoustics grew from a messy kitchen table into Vedom Audio.
Born from Frustration
We were happy with our audio equipment, each upgrade (purchased or made) making us more excited about the equipment, but we did get tired of that consistently inorganic sound which had become a part of all of our devices. Replacing op-amps was where the change came from; sometimes it would be an improvement and sometimes not. These IC op-amps were perfect on paper, but far from the truth, lacking both body and one may say soul.
Tuned by Ear
Measurement is important, but measurement that is not showing us what we feel, is simply bad information. We spent hours listening to miniscule details in vocals, cymbal decays, timbre changes, and kept comparing with what our op-amp reproduced, making notes of how it reflects in measurement. Luckily for us, being surrounded by musicians and studio professionals, we were able to walk the straight path with their guidance and feedback. If it didn't give us goosebumps, made our feet tap, it ended in the bin and new prototype was underway.
Made for Fellow Enthusiasts
We are not a massive automated assembly line. Every single operational amplifier is hand-solder finished by us, properly inspected and tested. Tedious work, but it is well worth it knowing they are going into hands of audio enthusiasts that care about music as much as we do.
Our Workbench, Your Stage
We started this journey on the kitchen table, transitioning to small garage (cliche we know), surrounding ourselves with breadboards, discarded PCB's, reels of transistors, and solder smoke. We didn't set out to start a company—we just wanted to fix our own music systems. But when friends and local music aficionados started hearing the difference, our passion project quickly grew.
Today, our process remains just as personal and thus the soul of our discrete op-amps comes from our commitment to zero compromises, ensuring it arrives ready to breathe new life into your system.
